The Maui Equestrian Lending Library emerged from a vision to preserve and share horse-related knowledge while creating a space for our community to connect through a shared love of horses. The foundation of our collection began with a call from Maui Friends of the Library who had far too many horse books to sell. Upon accepting this collection, local supporters began to donate as well. Though some books were too damaged to keep, many were salvaged—inspiring the creation of a library dedicated to Maui’s equestrian community.
The collection now holds nearly 500 volumes spanning a wide range of topics: training and riding techniques, horse care, history, and more. Each new donation expands our resources for riders, enthusiasts, and anyone interested in horses.
The Maui Equestrian Lending Library stands on the principle that knowledge should be shared and accessible. We created this resource to help our community learn, explore, and connect through horses.
